Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished manuscripts to the Sorsogon Multidisciplinary Research Journal (SorMRJ) through the journal’s online submission system. All submissions will undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they align with the journal’s aims, scope, and established policies. Manuscripts deemed suitable will proceed to a formal peer review process, after which a final decision—acceptance, revision, or rejection—will be made.

Editorial Screening and Peer Review

Upon submission, the editorial team will evaluate the manuscript for relevance, originality, clarity of presentation, and adherence to the journal’s guidelines. The editor reserves the right to desk reject submissions that do not meet the minimum standards of academic quality, are outside the journal’s scope, or fail to comply with formatting and ethical requirements. Submissions that pass this stage will be forwarded to qualified peer reviewers for further evaluation.

Ethical and Legal Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • All submitted work is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Proper permission has been obtained for all third-party materials included in the manuscript (e.g., images, figures, datasets, or documents).
  • All individuals listed as authors have substantially contributed to the work and have given their consent to be identified as co-authors.
  • Where applicable, the research has been reviewed and approved by an appropriate ethics committee, in accordance with institutional and national regulations.

Failure to meet these ethical standards may result in rejection or retraction of the manuscript.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that their manuscript is clearly written, logically organized, and academically sound prior to submission. In particular:

  • The study design and research argument should be well-structured, coherent, and adequately supported by evidence.
  • The title should be concise, informative, and reflective of the content of the study.
  • The abstract must be clear, self-contained, and capable of standing on its own, summarizing the purpose, methodology, key findings, and implications of the research.

Careful preparation of these elements increases the likelihood of the manuscript being accepted for peer review and positively evaluated by reviewers.

Final Submission Preparation

Before proceeding with submission, authors must ensure that their manuscript complies with all journal requirements. Authors are advised to carefully review the submission checklist, formatting guidelines and policies provided by SorMRJ to avoid delays in the review process.
